The Greene County Rams lost to the Number 1 rated Kuemper Knights in the first round of play in Class 3A Region 2 volleyball Tuesday in Carroll. Scores were 8-25, 12-25, 13-25.
Hannah Promes was 12 of 12 serving with two aces and added 21 assists. Katelyn Hagen was five of five serving and had seven digs. Nadia Fisher had 16 kills, and Alison Gallagher had six digs.
“This was a tough match and I thought the team never gave up, no matter what the score,” coach Donna Carhill said. “I saw our defense dig up some great kill. We scored points offensively against a much taller net defense, and we served tough the entire night. I was very proud of our play at such a competitive level.”
The Rams end the season at 15-21 while the Kuemper Knights are now 26-2.
It was the last game for seniors Hagen, Gallagher, Nicole Rohner, MacKenzie Dennhardt and Hannah Peterson.
